The Commercial Development Support bylaw P-9 allows a commercial property owner who is undertaking a new construction or a significant expansion, to phase in the increased taxes – resulting from the increased assessment of their property – over a five-year period. This rebate is payable to a maximum of $100,000 annually.
Eligible properties must enter into a Phased-in Assessment Agreement with the Town before receiving a development rebate. To get started, check out the full

Rebates are designed to stimulate building construction and the expansion of the economy of the Town. The Commercial Development Support Program may provide a participating owner with a partial rebate on taxes paid on an eligible property by utilizing all or a portion of the “Rebate Eligible Assessment.”
