Each year communities across Canada celebrate National Volunteer Week as a way to recognize the individuals who volunteer their time and skills to provide services and programs in our communities. Volunteer Week was observed from April 19-25, 2026.

The Town of Amherst will be accepting nominations once again in 2026 for individuals that deserve special volunteer recognition. Nominees will be honoured at a reception hosted in Amherst for their efforts. Individuals may also be nominated for the Provincial Volunteer Award on behalf of the Town of Amherst. One nominee from each category will be selected to represent the Town of Amherst at the Provincial Volunteer Awards.

When nominations open again, you will be able to:

Drop a hard copy of the completed Nomination Form off at Amherst Town Hall, 98 Victoria Street
Complete and save a PDF Nomination Form and email it to amherstrecreation@amherst.ca
Fax the nomination to 902-667-5409
