The Town of Amherst recently presented a Business Appreciation Certificate to Curly's in recognition of the business's continued growth and its recent move to a new location in Amherst.
Members of Town Council visited the business to congratulate owner and Amherst Town Councillor Dwayne Ripley and staff member Thomas McCrossin on this latest milestone and to recognize the business's ongoing investment in Amherst's economy. The presentation is part of the Town's Business Appreciation Program, which celebrates local entrepreneurs whose success contributes to a vibrant business community and strengthens Amherst as a place to live, work and invest.

Councillor Kathy Wells and members of Amherst Town Council present a Business Appreciation Certificate to Curly's. Staff member Thomas McCrossin accepted the certificate on behalf of owner Dwayne Ripley and the Curly's team.
After establishing Curly's in 2019, Ripley has expanded the business through a series of moves to accommodate continued growth. His newest location, which he purchased and extensively renovated, provides more space for customers while supporting the business's expanding product selection.
"We've had lots of new customers come in," said Ripley. "Pokémon products have really taken off recently, and we've invested a lot into making this space work for our business and for our customers."
Ripley credits the business's success to hard work during its early years and to building a dedicated team.
"In those first couple of years, you have to put the time in," he said. "No one is going to run your business like you. Once you find the right people, though, it makes all the difference."
Today, Curly's has become a destination for everything from health and nutrition products to collectibles, candy and other specialty items. Ripley describes the store as a "one-stop shop for your health, hype and happiness."
Supporting local businesses and celebrating entrepreneurial success remains an important part of the Town's commitment to economic development. Businesses like Curly's help create jobs, attract visitors, encourage local spending and contribute to the vitality of Amherst's commercial community.
The Town of Amherst congratulates Dwayne, Thomas and the entire Curly's team on this exciting milestone and wishes them continued success in their new location.
