At last night’s meeting of the Amherst Board of Police Commissioners, we took a moment to recognize the recent promotion of one of our Amherst Police Department members – Inspector Tom Wood.
Chief of Police Dwayne Pike presented Inspector Wood with a certificate of promotion reading:
“Congratulations on your promotion to the rank of Inspector, effective October 5, 2025. Through your continuous dedicated efforts and in recognition of your contributions to the department, you have once again been recognized for the advancement to this senior rank.
You and your family should feel proud of your achievement. It is an accomplishment which only a few APD members will reach. I am confident your knowledge and skills will play an important role in the future of the Amherst Police Department.”
