A 40-year-old male was arrested overnight in relation to a complaint from a local company regarding someone who had illegally accessed their property and stole a quantity of copper wire. 

Police received the call from the company shortly after midnight and were able to provide video footage and Police were able to identify the suspect.  He was located and arrested about 2 hours later when he was spotted by Police. 

Sean Gale, aged 40 of East Amherst NS has been charged with

  • Section 348(1)(a) Criminal Code - Break and Enter;
  • Section 334(b) Criminal Code – Theft under $5000
  • Section 351(1) Criminal Code – Possession of Break-in Tools

Gale has also been charged in relation to an incident that occurred on October 3rd, 2026, regarding counterfeit bills that were allegedly used at a local business.  As a result, he has also been charged with:

  • Section 450 Criminal Code – Possession of Counterfeit Money
  • Section 452 Criminal Code – Uttering Counterfeit Money

Gale was held overnight and made an appearance in court on October 9th, 2026.   He has been remanded intro custody and is scheduled to appear on November 9th, 2026, on this and other pending matters.
