Amherst recognizes long-service employees

The Town of Amherst honoured 14 employees with long-services awards during a ceremony at town hall on June 25.

“The Town of Amherst is fortunate to have such dedicated, hard-working staff,” Mayor David Kogon said in presenting the awards.

“Without their dedication, the town simply could not deliver the quality programs and services that we do.”

Honoured were:

  • Staff Sgt. Scott White for 40 years of service.
  • Police Chief Ian Naylor and Town Engineer Ben Pitman for 30 years of service.
  • CAO Greg Herrett, Town Clerk Kim Jones, Deputy Police Chief Dwayne Pike, Administrative Assistant Kathy Lake and Ken Pettigrew for 20 years of service.
  • Kevin Devine, Shane Mitchell, Rick MacKay, John Haggerty, Jean Jacklin and Jason Galloway for 10 years of service.
