Long-time Amherst Volunteer Joan Fowler has been chosen by Amherst Town Council as the Town’s Volunteer nominee for the Nova Scotia Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony to be held in April in Halifax.
Joan has given many years of service to many community organizations including the Kidney Foundation, Christmas for Kids and Dick’s Jamboree. Pictured here, congratulating Joan on behalf of the Town is Deputy Mayor Shelia Christie. More details on the many accomplishments of Joan Fowler will be released in the near future as will Amherst’s nomination for youth volunteer who will also take part in the provincial volunteer recognition ceremony.
