Cumberland Active Communities Coalition

The purpose of the Cumberland Active Communities Coalition (CACC) is to increase physical activity opportunities for children and youth in the likelihood of improved fitness and the ability to accrue health benefits that in that population. The coalition has several partners.

Amherst Curling Club


Amherst Curling ClubThe Curling Club maintains 4 sheets of artificial ice from October to April, and has hosted many provincial and national bonspiels. An active membership includes such leagues as Seniors, Mens, Ladies, Business/Industrial, Mixed/Social as well as a strong Junior Program. The facility includes 3 locker rooms, a bar, kitchen facility, lounge and banquet room. A number of weekends are reserved for local charities through the community to host Fund-raising bonspiels for curlers and non-curlers alike.

Cumberland YMCA

Cumberland YMCAOur new modern facility offers a complete cross training centre, pool, hot-tub/sauna, weight and cardio room, racquetball court, community multi-purpose room, gymnasium, fitness classes, preschool program, karate, swim lessons, youth night, aerobics and much more. Membership packages available-or day passes.

Amherst Golf ClubA Championship 18 Hole Course, overlooking the Tantramar Marsh, includes a driving range, practice green, Teaching Pro, locker rooms, and dining room/lounge, club and cart rentals as well green fee rates.
